COVID 19 Measures
I have carried out a risk assessment prior to offering Osteopathy and Massage during the pandemic. This page outlines the precautions I have put in place for your protection and my own.
Pre-screening for all appointments
If you are clinically vulnerable or are living with someone at higher risk please let me know, we may decide that a video consultation is the best option at this time.
I will also be screening all patients for the following symptoms prior to their appointment. If you have any of these symptoms please do not attend and call me to rearrange your appointment:
A new or persistent cough
A high temperature (hot to touch on your chest or back)
A loss or change to your sense of taste or smell
If you think you may have the symptoms above, you must self isolate and book a test via the NHS 111 online service. Visit the NHS website for more information on symptoms and tests: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
If you have any of the following symptoms please speak to me before attending as it is very likely I will ask you to reschedule until the symptoms have passed as many people with Covid19 now present with these symptoms:
Diarrhoea and/or vomiting
Extra hygiene measures
I am keeping the treatment room well ventilated and therefore you may find the room is not as warm as usual. I will be sanitising all surfaces between patients - the couch, pillows, chairs, table and other touch points such as door handles and card reader. I have removed linen and soft furnishings from the room to minimise risk - all surfaces are wipeable. I will be washing hands and forearms frequently and asking all patients to wash or sanitise hands on arrival. There will also be hand sanitiser in the treatment room.
I will be wearing a surgical grade mask and apron. I will also be donning disposable gloves for the hands-on part of your treatment. For some techniques that require me to be in closer contact (nearer to your face) I will also wear a face shield.
Please come to the appointment wearing a face covering (unless exempt), please keep this on at all times whilst inside the building.
Arriving for your appointment
Please arrive on time for your appointment (not earlier) and wait at the entrance (or designated place I have given you). I will come down and greet you at the door (or designated place). We will wash or sanitise our hands before moving into the treatment room.
Occasionally there is another healthcare professional working in a separate treatment room. Therefore there is minimal contact with other people whilst you are here but we ask that you socially distance as normal if you come into contact with others in the building. During the non-treatment part of your consultation we shall be socially distanced.
I accept cash and card payments and will sanitise the card machine between clients. If you are paying cash I will ask you to bring exact change only to avoid unnecessary cash handling during the appointment. Thank you.
